Biography

Paramore consists of five members - Hayley Williams (lead vocals), Josh Farro (lead guitar, backing vocals), Jeremy Davis (bass), Zac Farro (drums) and Taylor York (currently the unofficial rhythm guitarist). The band was formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2003. It started when brothers Josh and Zac Farro met Hayley Williams, who was desperate to join the Farro's already existing band. Williams, who knew bassist Jeremy Davis from a funk cover band she had played in (called The Factory), suggested that he play as the bassist for the band. Along with a former neighbour of Williams, ex-guitarist Jason Bynum, the Farros, Davis and Williams formed Paramore. The name Paramore is derived from the maiden name of a friend's mother. The name, which was actually Paramour, means "secret lover".

In 2005, the band played a show in the Nashville area when they were recognized by Fueled By Ramen co-founder John Janick. They were signed by the label in April 2005. The group travelled to Orlando to write and record their debut album, which would be released as All We Know Is Falling in July 2005. The band released two singles of the record, titled Pressure and Emergency, which both received positive feedback from listeners alike. All We Know is Falling

Hunter Lamb joined the lineup, replacing Bynum on guitar in 2006. Despite the member changes, the band continued to tour, gaining more and more fame. They played during Warped Tour and many other famous festivals. In early 2007, Hunter Lamb left the group to get married and was replaced by temporary touring guitarist Taylor York.

Shortly after Lamb's leave, the band returned to the studio to record their sophomore album, Riot!, which was released in June 2007. Four singles were released of this album; Misery Business, which is still their most infamous song to date, was the first single released, and was followed by Hallelujah, Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get. The album went platinum later on in the year.

The band celebrated the success of their album by going the Final RIOT! Tour in the summer of 2008. During the tour, the band filmed their show and put out a CD and DVD. The band also recorded two songs, Decode and I Caught Myself, for the Twilight Soundtrack.

Overall, the band has many accomplishments to be proud of. Starting out as a small group, they made their way to the top of the success ladder.
